The rehabilitation work on the Kinshasa Zoological Garden began on July 29, 2021. Funded by the National Tourism Office, the first phase involves the demolition of unplanned buildings, the construction of a modern enclosure, and the development of access routes. The second phase involves the redevelopment of animal cages in accordance with universal conservation standards. It also involves the repopulation of animals and the development of a modern leisure and catering area.
Muanda's most beautiful beach, Tonde Beach, with its namesake river flowing into it, has reopened. Located at the foot of the cliffs, this rehabilitated beach is officially part of the Mangrove Marine Park.

The Kisantu Botanical Gardens are home to 2,500 plant species, a herbarium, 6,000 specimens, an arboretum with 200 species including rare fruit trees, nurseries, a seed collection, a museum, a library with 6,000 volumes, and a hotel. Located 120 km from Kinshasa and 30 km from Mbanza Ngungu, the site has undergone modernization work, including the construction of accommodation in the form of bungalows and restaurants for visitors.
Located on the outskirts of Kinshasa, the Nsele tourist site is in need of rehabilitation. It houses the presidential residential complex, which includes an Olympic-sized swimming pool—the largest in Africa—a water park, a marina, a stadium, an 18-hole golf course, chalets, and a Chinese pagoda. The government is considering the construction of a tourist village in Idiofa, as is the construction of an eco-lodge at Lake Munkamba. The Lomako-Yokokala Wildlife Reserve (RFLY), covering an area of 362,500 hectares, is to be developed specifically for ecotourism.
